"The Man"

I had a request to make an "Irish Car Bomb Cake" in the shape of a beer mug.  I was super excited to try a cake flavor I have never done and a fun shaped cake.

So it is a Chocolate Guinness Cake with a ganache filling and Bailey's liquor buttercream.  It was actually really good buttercream.  I think I tried quite a bit.  :)

Here is how the cake turned out.

New Cakes

Sometimes it takes me a while to post new cakes.  But here are a few I've done since my last post.

Spongebob cake.  Spongebob is made of Rice Krispy Treats.

The birthday girl said she liked pink, zebra stripes and coach logo.  So I went with this.  Red Velvet cake with cream cheese buttercream.

New Cakes

My sister's daughter was going to cheerleading nationals in Orlando, so I made them a little cake and cupcakes before they left.

My neice requsted a monkey, peace signs and happy faces cake.  Oh and lots of chocolate.  This is what she got.  She loved it!

I also had a request for a Princess cake.  I've been wanting to try and make a gumpaste crown.  So here it is, it took a week to dry.  But it turned out great!  Red Velvet cake with cream cheese frosting.  Gumpaste crown, shoe and wand.

Busy Weekend

Well I had a busy cake weekend.  I decided to do two, at the last minute as usual.  :D

This one the birthday girl asked for a skull and bones with pink and black.  The cake was just a vanilla cake with a chocolate filling.  She loved it.  I loved it.  lol

I was also asked to make a baby shower cake.  I was given a photo of a cake she wanted.  Not sure who the original artist was, but thank you.  It was a red velvet cake with cream cheese on the bottom and snickerdoodle with vanilla buttercream on top.

Baby Showers

Well I finally got to try the baby uggs.  I've been wanting to try them and had the perfect opportunity.  I did a baby girl and baby boy shower cakes this last weekend.

The girl's cake was vanilla cake with Raspberry buttercream filling.  All MMF decorations and the gumpaste uggs and bow.  I think it turned out pretty cute.

The boy cake was chocolate with vanilla buttercream and chocolate ganache.  All MMF decorations.  Gumpaste shoes.  It matched the invitations.

Cakes for Nephews

My nephew requested a Mickey Mouse clubhouse cake for his 3rd birthday.  What a challenge this was.  :)  Its a chocolate cake with Oreo Buttercream filling.  The foot, hand and mickey head are rice krispy treats covered in fondant.  He said it was beautiful...so I guess I did good!

Here is the cake I made for my husband's nephew.  He is a hunter and asked me to make this. Its a chocolate cake with layers of eggless cookie dough filling and oreo buttercream filling.  Turned out really good.  This was my first time attempting the camo print.  I just took 3 different colors of fondant and twisted them then rolled them out.  It didn't turn out that bad for the first time.  I think I'll have to try it again, maybe trying something different this time.  Overall, he really liked it.  The little deer (or moose).. lol... is made of a rice krispy treat covered in modeling chocolate, modeling chocolate antlers as well.

What am I doing this week.

Well I have one cake for this weekend.  Its for a 11 year old girl.  I get so many ideas running through my head but I have narrowed it down and its going to be so cute!  I'm also going to the Seattle Seahawks/New Orleans Saints playoff game on Saturday!  Woohoo!

Next week is my big 35!!!  My  husband thinks its easy to make a topsy turvy cake..so we will see. I'll be sure to post pics!  I share a birthday with my nephew and he has asked me to make him a hunting/deer cake.  So I'm going to do this camo cake with a mounted deer...should be intersting.  My other nephew is turning 3 and he has specifically asked for a Mickey Mouse clubhouse cake.  He is going to be so excited.

I also have 2 baby shower cakes for the end of the month.  Fun times!

Christmas cakes

I decided to make some Christmas gift cakes this year for my co-workers and for my husband's work.  I did a variety of flavors.  Chocolate, White and Pumpkin.
